Last week's post on learning mathematics got me thinking. A few years back, I was moving in the direction of pursuing an Engineering degree, then got sidetracked and more or less dropped it. But I am thinking I want to move forward with this. I've developed a bit more discipline, I think, and have gotten a lot of the distractions out of the way. I got mostly crappy grades before, but I think I'm ready to give it another go and really focus on doing it right. Might want to start by re-taking Calc 2, Linear Algebra, Statics, or Physics as Portland State and see where things go from there.
I'm working through Asimov's 'The End of Eternity'(1955) on audiobook and really liking it. Will do a write-up on it when done.
Also reading (or rather, listening to) 'The Flux' by Ferrett Steinmetz (second book in the 'Mancer series). Interestingly, another story about people changing reality, and the bureaucracy tasked with keeping those forces under control.
So, on with the work week. Shavua tov!
