What a week.

School is in full swing, and I'm determined to keep my head above water in the grades department this time round. I like all of my profs and I'm feeling much better about the routine than I was last year.

Of course the news - or specifically, the part of my brain that follows the news - has been dominated by the terrorist attacks in France this past week at the Charlie Hebdo office and later at the kosher supermarket. I don't have anything to add to what's been said except that I grieve for the innocent lives lost and I pray that the civilized nations of the world will respond with strength and courage to the ongoing jihadi threat.

At home, well, my life goes on as usual. I'm getting the house back to its normal arrangement following Bunny's visit. Other than that, my big accomplishment today was parking my car with a palindromic mileage on the odometer. Simple pleasures for simple minds, I guess.
