I've spent most of the past year clearing out the unwanted debris and detritus of 50+ years, and so now - just as I'm getting ready to move - the place is approaching 'barely habitable'. (Insert George Carlin's "Too Much Stuff" sketch here.)
I'm living in the ground floor of a triplex in the Northwest neighborhood - one of the spendier parts of Portland, but still cheaper than San Francisco. I'll save more in rent, though, when I move.
Most of my books are boxed up and I've started putting them in storage. The ones still on the shelves are the ones I expect to access most frequently in the next six months or so. If you're curious about what's on my reading list,
I took photos of all the books I'd boxed, too, along with the numbered box labels, so I won't have to spend hours rummaging through boxes looking for that one book I just HAVE to have (as I've done, I am ashamed to admit, many times in the past).
