Wednesday evening

After slogging through a couple hundred pages of turgid bureaucratese, I took, and passed, one of the two FEMA exams I need to complete before I start EMT school. Also passed the second quiz (of 3) on EMT-related stuff.

Exciting news via FB: I've just learned that my longtime internet buddy Omar (Fadhil) al-Nidawi, formerly of Iraq the Model and now working at Gryphon Partners and whom I finally met in Alexandria / DC in the summer of 2014, was sworn in as a citizen of the United States of America. Wonderful, wonderful news, and welcome, Omar.

A couple of weeks ago I agreed to man the GOP booth at the Rose City Gun Show (because Republicans!). Sitting at the booth wasn't very exciting but I got to tour the floor and pick up a few goodies.

I haven't made it to the range since I got back from Africa, but hope to get down there this week or next - would love to get some shooting in before Passover.

Speaking of Africa, there's also some exciting news regarding my friend Yehuda (from Kasuku, Kenya), which I'll share in good time. And I'll be posting the next installment on that trip shortly.
