Flower books.

I've been renewing my acquaintance with a couple of books I've had on the shelves for years: 'American Nature Guides Wild Flowers' by Pamela Forey, and 'Wild Flowers of America' by H. W. Rickett (with illustrations by Mary Vaux Wolcott and Dorothy Falcon Pratt). The latter used to belong to my sister Stephanie, who had an encyclopedic knowledge of wild plants.

Right now I'm just going through the books page by page, studying the illustrations and saying the names of the plants. Going forward, I plan to get back into drawing, and I'll use these illustrations for practice; also, I'd love to learn a bit about the plants, as I like to understand the world around me.
