I'm starting to get into drawing again. I've dabbled in it off-and-on throughout my adult life. I started during my DLI days back in the early 1980s, when I'd get bored in class and start doodling in the margins of my Korean workbooks. Eventually the doodles became sketches of other students, who were paying attention to the instructor and unaware that they were sitting as life models. I became interested in the challenge of the 3/4 view of the face, where the line of the nose just breaks the silhouette of the rearground cheek.

I've never taken an art or drawing class, but eventually I might end up doing that just for fun. This morning's exercise is drawn with a ballpoint pen, not an art pen, because I write much more often than I draw and it's the tool I'm most familiar with.
